Dr. Zhen Zeng
Mater Research Institute
Dr. Zhen Zeng is a cancer immunologist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mater Research Institute - UQ, specializing in pioneering immunotherapy approaches. Her research has led to innovative strategies for enhancing anti-tumour immunity in high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) and melanoma, with a specific emphasis on CHK1 inhibitor (CHK1i) treatments. She has dedicated her work to advancing treatments for resistant cancers by developing methods to modulate immune responses within the tumour microenvironment. An early career researcher, Dr. Zeng collaborates closely with clinicians, pathologists, and senior scientists across multiple multidisciplinary projects. Her contributions have earned her recognition through several awards, including the Keystone Symposium Scholarship, and the 2024 CCI Kickstart Funding from UQ. Dr. Zeng’s ongoing work aims to bridge laboratory discoveries with clinical applications, particularly in enhancing immune recognition and reducing tumour immunosuppression to improve outcomes for patients with treatment-resistant cancers.
