Clinical Nurse Specialist – Cancer Nurse Coordinator Māori
Taria Viliua (Nga Puhi, Tainui) is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Maori cancer patients across Te Whatu Ora Waitemata. She brings the role a cultural aspect from a nursing lens. She has been in this role since September 2022 and works with patients across all tumour streams with a confirmed cancer or those who have been referred with a high suspicion of cancer. Her practice is based around Matauranga Maori and has a strong belief that Maori for Maori in the health system benefits huge to our people when going through their health journey. Her presentation will be based around the Maori cancer coordination role and the benefits this brings to Maori.
